Bourbon County Special #4 Stout is an oatmeal stout variation of the original Bourbon County Stout recipe, also aged in bourbon barrels. Crystal oats are used for a nutty character and a smooth mouthfeel. After barrel aging, we added Intelligentsia Coffee, both their cold brew and single-origin coffee beans from Ethiopia called "Metad Buku," for a pleasantly fruity coffee character. Finally, maple syrup from Bissell Maple Farm in Ohio, aged in bourbon barrels, is added. This syrup adds an extra dimension to the nutty oats and coffee and rounds out the flavors.
