Rum V.S.O.J. (2025)

Before holding this extra-sweet Straight Jacket, the Cruzan Rum barrels we used contained only one other liquid: rum. Because the barrels are used only once—and for just one year—they impart about three times as much oak character to the beer as even the youngest bourbon barrels do. Yet, for this addition to the 'Twenty Ten Variant Collection,' we felt that wasn't quite enough; we added extra oak to each barrel to bring a touch more dryness and balance to the powerful combination of an extra-malty barleywine and sweet rum. Two types of fire-toasted American oak enhance the caramel, coconut, and vanilla notes derived from the barrels themselves, providing a beautiful finish to every sip.
