Net als zijn voorgangers is Utopias 2019 een mix van eerdere batches van de extreme bieren van Samuel Adams, die hebben gerijpt in houten bourbonvaten van Buffalo Trace Distillery. Brouwers namen porties van dit bier en brachten deze over naar Aquavit-, Carcavelos- en robijnrode portvaten om complexe smaken aan het bier te geven.
