Põhjala

Põhjala werd eind 2011 opgericht in Tallinn, Estland door vier Estse bierliefhebbers en thuisbrouwers.

Kort daarna kreeg het bedrijf gezelschap van een Schotse hoofdbrouwer, Chris Pilkington, met een paar jaar Brewdog-ervaring op zijn naam.

Het eerste Põhjala-bier, Öö Imperial Baltic Porter, werd begin 2013 uitgebracht en gedurende het grootste deel van dat jaar werden onze bieren op contractbasis gebrouwen in de productiefaciliteiten van andere brouwerijen, terwijl de eigen brouwerij in aanbouw was. De bouw van onze eerste brouwerij werd in april 2014 voltooid in de wijk Nõmme in Tallinn.
